MSCF works tirelessly to raise awareness about teething complications and dental health in infants. Throw (through)campaigns, community meetings and talk shows, the Foundation seeks to inform parents about the importance of closely monitoring the growth/development of teeth in infants. Parents need to know symptoms of teething and how to differentiate them from that of other common diseases like malaria or bacterial infections.
In order to reach out to more children, MSCF is supporting orphans, single mothers and fathers in poor rural communities in the project areas mentioned. Uganda’s economy depends largely on agriculture. As such we are providing agricultural inputs, seedlings, exotic piglets and goats to widows, single mothers/fathers and orphans to enhance their capacities for self-reliance.
Uganda has one of the weakest regulations concerning alcohol consumption. We are sensitizing communities about the effects of substance abuse on families and children. MSCF organizes community outreaches, seminars, counselling and psychological support to families affected by alcoholism and substance abuse. How can you help? You can help by funding our seminar and outreach activities.
Under this project, MSCF is helping raise funds to be channeled as scholarships to a minor seminary in Tororo. MSCF is currently helping raise funds for the renovation of classroom buildings and dormitories in St Pius X Seminary. This seminary has produced many church leaders and also influential members of the public. It is a great opportunity to support the church considering the impact they have on community.
Michael Silwanyi Foundation is introducing a project to help improve on the quality of education through Child Sponsorship programs. Child Sponsorships go to providing school fees, uniforms, shoes and other basic essentials/supplies. It also supports health and continuous academic support. How can you help with this program? Your Sponsorship can result in life-changing benefits for a child. The child can begin to dream of a future they never thought possible. Sponsoring a child costs $38 per month.
All children need to know that they are special and loved. Unfortunately, poverty and suffering doesn’t allow that love to flow easily hence stealing joy from children. We are helping bring back that joy and innocence by visiting disadvantaged children and their families. During such visits, MSCF give out sweets, toys and other gifts. We organize Christmas, Easter and other celebrations for kids.
Through this program, MSCF is working with communities to plant more trees as a measure to curb the effects of climate change and global warming. To that end, we are sensitizing the community about the important of tree planting and protecting wetlands for posterity. MSCF encourages the growing of indigenous tree species and supplies quality tree seedlings to communities beginning to experience the effects of global warming.
The Michael Silwanyi Child Foundation is working with the Roman Catholic group of Mikera village which is under the Nagongera Catholic parish to build a new church. This church is an extension of the main parish. We are helping raise funds to be used for buying bricks, cement and roofing material. This is an interesting project for Christian donors interested in supporting God’s project by helping build a church. It is a project you can support from the comfort of your room in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, China or Africa
MSCF supports underprivileged children by offering scholarships from Nursery to University. Scholarships help cater for tuition, uniforms, accommodation and other supplies.
MSCF is currently supporting many children including two who are currently at university.
Lack of clean access (lack of access to clean water) to water is still prevalent in many communities in Uganda. Drinking water is still collected from open ponds and water points designed for livestock. It may require walking miles to access the nearest or few safe water points. Lack of safe drinking water sets the stage for dysentery, cholera, Typhoid and other diseases. Over 50% of deaths in some villages in Uganda are caused by lack of safe drinking water. The best solution for rural areas is by digging boreholes (drilling deep water wells).
We are committed to spreading joy, love, and hope in disadvantaged communities across Uganda. We focus on education, health, clean water, agriculture, and community development while promoting the gospel of Christ.
